What are the top features of this baby monitor?

One of the best features of the Graco Ultra Clear II Baby Monitor is that it includes two parent units instead of just one.  This is great if you want to leave one unit stationed in a particular room and carry the other one with you, or if two people want to monitor the baby at the same time from different rooms. 

Another great feature that the Graco Ultra Clear II offers is a nightlight.  This soft glow nightlight gives your baby a little light while they drift off to sleep.  The nightlight has an auto shut-off timer that will shut the light off after 15 minutes, so you don’t have to worry about it being left on all night. 

Besides the nightlight, the Graco Ultra Clear II also has sound lights.  This means that even if you have the audio on the handheld unit shut off or just can’t hear it, there are lights that will tell you if there is noise in your baby’s room and how loud that noise is.  This can definitely come in handy in situations where you can’t have the audio on. 

Are there any problems or concerns with using this baby monitor?

The main concern with the Graco Ultra Clear II Bay Monitor is the fact that it is 49MHz.  This is the same that many electrical devices use, so there will be tons of static.  Many of the better quality monitors are switching to 900MHz to avoid much of the interference.  Unfortunately, you will notice a lot of static and interference from this unit.  You may even pick up noise from other people’s baby monitors or even phone calls.

Another problem with the Graco Ultra Clear II 49MHz Baby Monitor is that it doesn’t have rechargeable batteries, and the regular batteries can drain very quickly if you constantly carry the unit around without plugging it in with the adapter.  This means that you will need to buy batteries often to keep the unit working properly.

Is this baby monitor a good choice?
